Contract management is becoming increasingly important for RPs

This is in the context of ongoing price inflation and supply chain turbulence.  Writing in Social Housing, Guy Stapleford of Procurement for Housing advised RPs to review and, where necessary, strengthen the following aspects of contract management:

• Clarity over who is responsible for managing each contract
• Access for contract managers to training and specialist support
• Defining and testing KPIs and how they will be measured
• Analysing trends in KPIs to identify early warning signs on performance
• Ensuring invoices are in line with contract terms
• The arrangements for handling requests for price changes
• Assessing the impact of proposed contract modifications prior to approval.
