A housing association is facing corporate manslaughter charges following the death of a resident

On 29th January, 23-year-old Joshua Robbins died after a railing collapsed on the fifth floor of a block owned by Islington and Shoreditch Housing Association (ISHA).  At a pre-inquest review hearing was held at St Pancras Coroner’s Court on 21^st July, Detective Inspector Mark Paterson told the coroner that the Metropolitan Police is investigating corporate manslaughter in relation to the incident.  ISHA was reported to be “fully compliant” with requests for information.
