A local authority has a programme of buying homes on the open market for use as TA

Lewisham Council is mainly targeting former council homes sold under the Right to Buy.  This policy has been in place since 2022, with approval for the purchase of a further 74 homes, partly funded by the Local Authority Housing Fund Round 4, given by the Council's Cabinet.  In total, these programmes, will have delivered 189 homes for temporary accommodation.  As at 1st December 2025, the Council was providing TA for 2,450 households altogether.
