Delays to the sign off of bids for SAHP funding are putting delivery at risk

Decisions on bids to the Social and Affordable Homes Programme, which were expected to be confirmed in July, did not materialise.  In response, the leaders of eight organisations, representing housing associations, ALMOs and local authorities, wrote a piece for Inside Housing, warning that, if the government does not sign off on the bids soon, there was a risk that the momentum that had built up over the past year “could be lost as quickly as it’s been built”.  The article also called on the government to increase the funding available to avoid RPs having to scale back their bids.
