Work is to restart on an affordable housing scheme in Southend, three years after the collapse of its MMC builder

In July, The Guinness Partnership awarded Lovell Partnerships a £53million contract to build 221 timber-frame homes at Fossetts Way, following a competitive process via the Communities and Housing Investment Consortium dynamic purchasing system.  Construction of the scheme was originally begun by modular housebuilder Ilke Homes in 2022.  A year later, the company went into administration, forcing Guinness to demolish more than thirty partly-completed homes.  Completion of the scheme is now expected to take place in 2028.
