There was a significant increase in the number of Right to Buy sales by local authorities in 2025/26

This followed a surge in applications ahead of the reduction in discounts implemented by the government in November 2024.  According to data published by the MHCLG on 6th August, the number of sales rose by 90% to 14,275, while the income from sales doubled to £1.61billion.
