Complaints about public services in Wales are increasing

The Public Services Ombudsman for Wales (PSOW) received 1,130 new complaints about services between April and June, a 48% increase over the same period in 2025.  This figure covers both councils and housing associations; a more detailed breakdown was not published at this time.  A national survey found that public awareness of PSOW had risen by 52% over the past year, while a further survey of complaints officers from the organisation under its jurisdiction revealed an average rating of 8.4 out of 10.
