[Progress with large schemes]

In August, the Hyde Group agreed a £100million forward funding agreement with developer London Square to purchase 337 affordable homes at its Woolwich Central scheme in south-east London.  This will consist of 190 homes for social rent and 147 for shared ownership across five blocks of between thirteen and sixteen storeys.   The scheme received funding from the GLA's 2021/26 Affordable Homes Programme to increase the affordable element from the 35% in the Section 106 agreement to 49%.  The scheme also incorporates a sustainable, energy efficient design, featuring central air source heat pumps, high performance building fabric and optimised glazing that minimises energy demand and emissions. 

In August, Hyde announced that it had received Gateway 2 approval from the Building Safety Regulator to build 182 affordable homes at Charlton Riverside.  Two-thirds will be for social rent with the remainder targeted at first-time buyers.  The housing association said that it had worked closely with its contractor throughout the Gateway 2 application process, helping to ensure that the application was successful.  This required "meticulous coordination across architecture, structural engineering, fire safety and construction".

In July, Clarion Housing Group secured planning permission from Merton Council for 249 new homes, alongside the regeneration of Mitcham town centre.  All of the new housing will be for social rent.  This scheme forms part of a £2billion regeneration programme in Merton being delivered Clarion, with a total of 2,800 homes planned to be built.

In May, Platform Housing Group completed a major land acquisition in Cirencester, Gloucestershire.  It plans to deliver 280 new homes, forming a “sustainable new neighbourhood” on the site.
