There are plans to develop a public sector land bank in Greater Manchester

This will support efforts to build 50,000 new affordable homes across the region.  These plans were revealed in August by new Mayor Bev Craig, who said that brownfield and dormant publicly owned sites will be targeted for the development of new council, social and “genuinely affordable” homes.  Greater Manchester’s public bodies will be asked to carry out a land review to identity potential sites.
