The prime minister has launched a national drive to get all rough sleepers off the streets by Christmas.

Echoing the Everyone In initiative during the Covid pandemic, this aims to offer “everyone who needs it” a route off the streets by the end of the year.  New accommodation and support will be rolled out across England this winter, “learning from innovative approaches put into place during the pandemic”.  £442million of funding, including £102million not previously announced, has been made available to support the programme.  In addition to emergency accommodation, this will deliver more than 1,000 settled homes over the next three years, alongside intensive wrap-around support.  The funding will be devolved to local leaders "to decide what type of support their community needs most".
