The Conservatives have appointed a new Shadow Housing Secretary

On 31st August, Katie Lam, MP for the Weald of Kent, was appointed to replace Sir James Cleverly, who had resigned to focus on his campaign to become Mayor of London.  Ms Lam was elected to the House of Commons in 2024, having previously been a special advisor to Boris Johnson when he was Prime Minister, as well as being involved in Rishi Sunak's first leadership bid.
