Aggregate rent collection rates declined in the first quarter of 2026/27, in line with seasonal trends

Mean current rent arrears for English housing associations rose from 3.2% in the quarter to March to 3.5% in the quarter to June, the same level as for the quarter to June 2025.  According to the RSH’s latest quarterly survey, mean rent collection rates declined from 98.7% in the quarter to June 2025 to 98.4% in the quarter to June 2026.  22 providers reported rent collection rates of less than 95%, up from 20 in the quarter to June 2025.
