While there have been improvements in data collection on caring responsibilities, sexual orientation and religion, at least 90% of the data on the socioeconomic background of people working in social housing is missing.  According to a report published by the NHF on 8th September: “Knowing the socioeconomic background of the housing association workforce, and the responsibilities and pressures people face outside of work, would help us understand how well the sector supports social mobility and socioeconomic diversity.  This is particularly important given the sector’s role in providing homes for people on lower incomes and for people that may need support at home.”
