Devolution requires RPs to develop more regionalised funding strategies

Speaking at The Housing Community Summit in September, Jo Makinson of Bromford Flagship LiveWest said that the sector needs to “be able to demonstrate our credibility at a regional level”.  She continued: "Our view certainly is that combining real regional differentiation and place-based approaches with scale feels like it’s going to really drive the ability that we have as an organisation to leverage in either institutional capital ourselves or via combined authorities and other sources."  This was particularly important in the context of the government's decision to hold back a proportion of grant funding to make it available to local authorities.
