The Defence Housing Service will work in partnership with private developers to achieve its objectives

The agency plans to build 100,000 homes on surplus defence land.  On 10th September, David Brewer of the Defence Infrastructure Organisation told the Public Accounts Committee: "“We have no intention of going out and competing with other developers to run these things ourselves."  The organisation was already working in partnership with house builders, such as on the redevelopment of a former RAF barracks at Waterbeach with Urban&Civic.
