The National Audit Office has launched an investigation into temporary accommodation

This will examine the quality of the government's oversight of the temporary accommodation system, together with whether it is resilient and delivers value for money.  The review will cover how effectively the MHCLG provides stewardship of this housing, and how effectively central and local government work together to balance immediate pressures with longer-term solutions.  It will also look at whether the temporary accommodation system delivers suitable accommodation and positive outcomes for households.  The report is due to be delivered in Spring 2027.
