Proposed changes to the NPPF “would halve the delivery of affordable homes in rural areas”

Proposals to remove affordable housing requirements from sites with between 10 and 49 homes would remove virtually all of the affordable housing delivered via Section 106 agreements in rural areas.  In July, Kate Henderson of the NHF called on the government to scrap these proposals, pointing out that, due to the high cost of housing in rural areas, families living in these areas are in the most acute need of affordable homes.
