Reform UK would scrap social value requirements in the award of public contracts

Concerns have been expressed that this will lead to job losses.  Anna Moore of retrofit specialist Domna Homes told Inside Housing that social value requirements in procurement support local jobs and apprentices.  However, Rico Wojtulewicz of the National Federation of Builders said that, in recent years, social value scoring had become “a costly tick-box exercise” that was driving the wrong behaviours.
