The proportion of new homes built by RPs that are for social rent increased significantly in 2025/26

During the year, the number of homes for social rent started by NHF members increased by 57% to 13,275, while the number completed rose by 49% to 9,583.  In total, associations started 35,570 homes in 2025/26, a 15% increase on the previous year, while completions rose by 5% to 42,792.
