In 2024, it is estimated that Londoners living in social housing contributed £27.8billion in economic output in 2024.  According to a report published by the G15 on 10th July, 65% of employed social housing residents work in key worker occupations, compared with around 40% of London’s general workforce.  The report warned that the affordability and availability of housing in the capital is “now a real barrier to sustainable economic growth”.
