From 1st April 2028, the affordable housing threshold will return to 35% for eleven of the city’s 32 boroughs, mainly those covering inner London, plus the City of London.  According to the Draft London Plan, published on 16th July, this threshold will increase to 25% in a further eight boroughs, while remaining at 20% for the remainder.  The Plan could deliver as many as 558,000 new homes by 2037, although this will require “the right national support, including investment in key transport infrastructure that will help to unlock large housing projects”.
