The organisation has undertaken a risk-based survey of its properties with the aim of identifying the presence of RAAC. This focuses on buildings with flat roofs built between 1950 and 1980.
Where RAAC is found, the risk to tenants is assessed and proportionate mitigation and remediation plans developed and implemented as required. This could include placing the residents in temporary accommodation while the necessary works are carried out. In addition to taking account of guidance from the Institute of Structural Engineers, expert advice is commissioned as necessary to develop an effective remediation scheme. The Board is kept informed of the situation, including estimates of any additional costs involved. Asset management programmes are amended as necessary to ensure that any high-risk buildings are tackled urgently.
