There is an effective contract management mechanism in place, supported by independent verification and regularly reviewed.  It takes account of the potential impact of poor contractor performance on the health and wellbeing of residents, while ensuring that contractors are not paid for work that they have not yet completed.

The board receives regular assurance that controls over procurement and contract management are effective and that sufficient skilled staff are in place to support the organisation in building strong relationships with its contractors and suppliers in pursuit of its objectives.
